Anna-Lena Meiners is a PhD researcher in human–computer interaction and accessibility at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Her research examines how interactive systems are experienced by diverse users, with a particular focus on perspectives of neurodivergent people, accessibility, and immersive technologies such as digital games and virtual reality. She investigates how specific design features and contexts of use relate to user and player experience, drawing primarily on qualitative methods and theory-informed analysis.
She is part of the Real-World Lab Accessibility, a participatory research initiative in which she collaborates with citizens and partner organizations to find out how technology can support the self-determined and equitable participation of disabled people in society.
Anna-Lena has a multidisciplinary academic background spanning theatre studies, philosophy, computer science, and digital media, and previously worked in user experience research and software development, including roles in product ownership, requirements engineering, and project management.
