„ProTrack“ is an android application developed by students at KIT. We want to evaluate the utility and usability of ProTrack.
The app aims to support a better understanding of one’s own procrastination behaviors. „Procrastination“ means „putting things off“. Instead of working on tasks, we decide to do something else. This can have many different reasons. We want to find out whether ProTrack can help finding these reasons.
Study process:
- You send an email to protrack∂lists.kit.edu , asking us to contact you for the study.
- We send you some information materials and legal documents. Some of these you need to fill in and sign. The documents are also available in simplified language, like this text.
- You have to install the app on your phone yourself. Then, you use the app for about 4 weeks.
- At the beginning and the end of the test phase, we ask you to fill in a survey.
- Optional: If you are interested, we want to have a one-on-one chat with you. In this interview, you can provide in-depth feedback on your user experience.
What you can expect:
- We want to find out if the app works for you.
- All data you enter in the app stays on your phone.
- We see procrastination as something neutral. We will not judge, when, how, or what kinds of tasks you procrastinate.
- The optional interview in the end will take about 30-45 minutes. The interview can take place via video call or on-premise in Karlsruhe. We will agree on a date, time, and place together.
- The language of the study is German or English, whichever you prefer.
- The surey data will be anonymously collected and evaluated.
- The interview will be recorded and put into writing. The recording and the transcript will be stored on secure servers. The transcript will be pseudonymized. After evaluation is complete, the recordings will be deleted. It will not be possible to identify you personally from publications.
- You will receive €10 remuneration after completing each of the two surveys and the interview.
